Cristiano Ronaldo bids adieu to Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo has spent the last nine years playing for Real Madrid and has been their most outstanding player for the last decade. There were rumours circulating prior to the 2018 FIFA World Cup that Ronaldo would quit Real Madrid once Portugal finished their world cup campaign.

Those rumours are true as Ronaldo has confirmed that he has signed a contract with Juventus estimated to be more than €100 million for the next four years.

The 33 year old Ronaldo finishes his stint with Real Madrid as the club’s leading goal-scorer having a record of 451 goals from 438 appearances.

Ronaldo was instrumental in Real Madrid’s success over the last 9 years and has helped lead the club to 4 FIFA Club World Cups, 2 Spanish Cups, 2 League Championships and 4 Champions League titles.

In a letter to his fans, Ronaldo said

I only have feelings of enormous gratitude for this club and for this city. I have had nine absolutely wonderful years at the club. Real Madrid has conquered my heart, and that of my family, and that is why more than ever I want to say thank you: thank you to the club, the president, the directors, my colleagues, all the staff, doctors, physios and incredible people that make everything work.

When you spend 9 years playing at the same club you end up building close friendships and forming relationships that grow very deep. Ronaldo’s teammates took to social media to wish him the very best and show their appreciation for what he has helped Madrid achieve over the years.

Tributes poured in from a number of playing such as Garath Bale who played with Ronaldo for the last 5 years and Sergio Ramos who is the captain of Real Madrid. Ramos said that Ronaldo will go down in Madrid’s books as one of the greatest and mentioned that it was a pleasure to play together with him.


Juventus Welcomes Ronaldo With Open Arms

Juventus who were knocked out in this year Champions League by Ronaldo has paid alot of money to get Ronaldo on board and will be hoping that he delivers for them like he did for Real Madrid. Ronaldo also received a welcome from former Real Madrid team-mate Sami Khedira who now plays for the Italian side. Khedira said that it was a great day for Juventus to get Ronaldo on board and looked forward to working with Ronaldo once again.
