Evander Holyfield vs. Mike TysonThe younger generation of boxing fans were treated to an exhibition fight on 28 November that featured Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jnr. Fans who had never seen Iron Mike Tyson compete in the ring witnessed 8 x 2 minute rounds of pure adrenalin and excitement as 54 year old Tyson still showcased great speed and head movement.

Tyson has vowed to continue to fight and do exhibition fights as he wants to entertain boxing fans around the world.

Tyson’s biggest rival in the ring during his prime was Evander Holyfield who beat him twice. Boxing fans are keen to see the two legends once again face off in the ring even though both of them are in their 50s.

Holyfield has said in the past that he would come out of retirement and fight if the price was right. The 58 year old said that he would be willing to take on Mike Tyson with just 2 days’ notice but only if they were willing to put down $25 million.

Holyfield said that since he had beaten Tyson twice, he did not think it was right to call him out for a third fight. However, if the fans want it and the organizers were willing to pay his asking fee, he would be down to fight.

Tyson Not Fighting For The Money Anymore

Tyson looked in great shape and every bit as menacing as before in his fight against Roy Jones Jr. The judges ruled that the fight was a draw which was a crying shame given that Tyson won the fight hands down.

Roy Jones Jr. admitted after the fight that every punch he took rocked him and hurt him to the core. Tyson picked up $7.5 million for his exhibition fight but is giving away all of the money to charity. Even though the fight was ruled a draw, Iron Mike said he was happy as he knows his fans were pleased with his performance.
