Michigan Online Gaming Industry Will Go Live From Friday

MichiganPlayers have waited for a long time for Michigan to legalize and launch its online gaming industry. They will not have to wait much longer as the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has confirmed that its online casino and sports betting market will start accepting players from Jan 22.

MGCB which is the gaming regulator in the state has so far approved 15 iGaming licenses that cover both commercial and tribal operators who will launch online casino and sports betting services.

Players will be able to register and start playing online casino games from the comfort of their homes and also place sports bets on both domestic and international sports.

The younger generation of players who like playing games on the move and place bets while on the go will be able to take advantage of the mobile betting options that will be available.

The MGCB said that it expects more gaming and betting operators to apply for a casino and sports betting license in the months to come. Casino operators in the state have been hit hard financially due to the shutdowns that were brought about due the coronavirus pandemic.

They are eagerly waiting to launch their online gaming platforms and tap into the lucrative sports betting and iGaming market so that they can recover from some of their losses. Michigan is also keen on the iGaming and sports betting market to do well as the state is in need of a financial boost to its state budget.

Licensed Betting and Gaming Operators

Michigan players who are looking to register for an online casino or sports betting account will be able to do so at the following licensed operator’s sites. The list of licensed operators is as follows.

BetMGM/Roar Digital has partnered with MGM Grand Detroit, DraftKings which has partnered with Bay Mills Indian Community, Wynn which has joined forces with Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, FanDuel which has signed up with MotorCity Casino and William Hill which has partnered with the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.
