The countdown to the playoffs has begun with just 5 weeks left in the regular season to make or break some teams postseason hopes.
ith that said, there are some intriguing matchups this weekend, and we’re here to give you a look at the playoff picture in each conference, an updated injury report, and a few intriguing storylines heading into week 13.
Former Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster has been in the news quite a bit since his entrance into the NFL. He was kicked out of the NFL Scouting Combine and made headlines earlier this year for reportedly abusing his girlfriend, who later recanted her accusation in front of a judge.
This past week, Foster was involved in another alleged domestic violence incident involving the same girlfriend. The 49ers subsequently cut Foster who was placed on waivers. The Redskins then claimed Foster, who was signed to the roster earlier this week.
The Redskins organization has defended the decision, stating that they are not guaranteeing Foster’s place on the roster and that they will let the legal formalities play out without interference. They also stated they spoke with former teammates of Foster, who reportedly supported him and the decision to bring him aboard, but those players later refuted this report.
Big Ben Criticizes Teammates
Shocker right? Ben Roethlisberger has never been one to hold back his feelings regarding his team, his coaches, or his own individual play. Ben was apparently very frustrated with a few fellow Steelers following their 24-17 loss to the Broncos.
He called out Antonio Brown’s effort during his routes late in the game, as well as rookie receiver James Washington for dropping a pass. He also took issue with Maurkice Pouncey’s blocking on the final play, saying Pouncey blocked Broncos DT Shelby Harris too far back which created the game ending interception.
