Premier League Fantasy Football Gameweek 23 top picks

Updated On Jan 12, 2018 by David Nugent

Due to a clash in our schedule, unfortunately, we could not cover Gameweek 22 of FPL. However, in Gameweek 21 we once again experienced mix fortunes with our picks. Here are the players we believe will thrive in Gameweek 23:

David De Gea (Manchester United)

The Manchester United goalkeeper is regarded as one of the best in the world. Even at £5.9million, the Spaniard is a very good option for FPL players.

De Gea is the sort of player you can leave in your team no matter who the opponents are, as not only does he keep clean sheets, he picks up a lot of save points. The Red Devils stopper has already picked up ten bonus points this season.

A home game against struggling and managerless Stoke looks like a fixture where he will at least pick up a clean sheet, against a Potters that has scored just once in their last three away games in the top-flight.

Lewis Dunk (Brighton)

The Seagulls defender may seem like a strange choice. However, at £4.5million he is a very good budget-friendly defensive option for our squads. Brighton have been pretty solid at the back this season in the top-flight. A trip to struggling West Brom this weekend looks like an opportunity for Dunk to pick up points. Dunk has yet to score for the Seagulls this season in the top-flight. However, last season he represented a big threat in the opposition box from set-pieces, so some attacking returns could be just around the corner for the centre-back.

Marko Arnautovic (West Ham)

The Austrian international has thrived under David Moyes since a change of position. Playing as the main striker or just behind the central striker Arnautovic has become highly productive.

In his last six Premier League appearances, the forward has produced five goals and one assist, after failing to produce a return in his first few months at the club. In fact, the former-Inter star has only failed to contribute to a goal in one of his last top-flight appearances. The £6.9million-rated star was a slight fitness doubt. However, reports suggest he will be fit for a trip to Huddersfield on Saturday after, which could reap more rewards for his FPL owners. The Irons also have a favourable run of fixtures after their trip to Yorkshire.

Jesse Lingard (Manchester United)

The Manchester United winger is on a hot streak of form at the minute. The England international has produced four assists and an assist in his last five top-flight games for the Red Devils. He also scored in the Red Devils 2-0 win over Championship derby last time out in the FA Cup.

Lingard has now scored seven goals and produced four goals in the Premier League this season. He looks like he is starting to fulfil his potential for the Red Devils. The winger looks to be a bargain at just £6.3million, especially with Stoke visiting Old Trafford on Monday night. Lingard offers the double advantage of being budget-friendly and a goal threat. You could not ask more from an FPL midfield asset.

Who is the must-have FPL asset this weekend?
