Premier League Fantasy Football Gameweek 35 top picks

Updated On Apr 19, 2018 by David Nugent

Some Premier League teams have just four games left, so that means that we have reached a pivotal stage of the FPL campaign. Our gameweek 34 picks were pretty successful with Mat Ryan, Chris Smalling and Jamie Vardy all picking up points.

With just six Premier League games this weekend, here are Gameweek 35 top picks:

Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)

The big money January arrival has helped the Reds strengthen their defensive resolve in recent months. In fact, the Reds have now kept three clean sheets in their last four outings in the Premier League.

Although £5.7m rated Van Dijk has yet to score for Liverpool in the league, the big Dutch centre-back offers a very effective aerial threat on set-pieces. He is definitely due a goal.

Another attraction is that the Reds face a trip to rock bottom West Brom. The Baggies recorded a shock 1-0 win at Manchester United last time out. However, it is difficult to see the side from the Midlands repeating the trick against the Reds.

Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)

Manchester City players were rather neglected in gameweek 34, due to the Citizens only having one game compared to other teams with two games. However, Sterling once again delivered for Pep Guardiola’s side in a 3-1 win at Tottenham.

The England international winger has now produced two goals and three assists in his last four appearances for the champions. His overall tally of 17 goals and 13 assists is often overlooked due to his team’s accomplishments this season.

There is a rotation risk with Sterling for a home game with Swansea. However, the £8.7m rated star has proven in the past that he can pick up plenty of points from the substitutes bench.

Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace)

The Ivory Coast international winger was always going to be a key player for the Eagles this season and he has proven his worth in recent weeks. In the last five gameweeks, the winger has produced three goals and two assists, including a brace in the Eagles 3-2 win over Brighton last time out in the top-flight.

Roy Hodgson’s relegation-threatened side visit inconsistent Watford this weekend. This game will be an ideal opportunity for Zaha to add to his goals and assist tally, which currently stands at seven goals and five assists, despite an injury-ravaged campaign.

At £6.8m, Zaha offers a very good midfield option, as there is a small choice of players to choose from in gameweek 35.

Ayoze Perez (Newcastle)

The Spanish forward has been in superb form of late for the Magpies, as the north east side have moved away from the drop zone and into mid-table. In the last three games, Perez has scored three times and produced two assists for the Magpies.

The goals and assist means that Perez has now scored five times and produced six assists for the north east side.

A price tag of just £5.3m and a game against a lacklustre Everton side at Goodison Park this weekend makes Perez a very good option for your third striker slot. The Magpies are underdogs to win at Everton, but their recent red-hot form suggests they can cause an upset on Merseyside.
