Updated On May 22, 2018 by Cameron Bishop

A week before TapJets, a US based on-demand private jet provider, had announced its intention to accept cryptocurrency as a payment method.

While tweeting the decision, the company also conducted a poll asking which of the cryptocurrency among Ripple (XRP), Verge (XVG), and Litecoin (LTC) should be accepted by them as payment. Tapjets intends to start accepting cryptocurrency payments from June 1 onwards.

A little over 57,000 people participated in the poll. Ripple received 44% of the total votes and took the first place. Litecoin followed with 35% of the votes. Verge received the last place with only 21% of the votes polled in its favor.

Based on the votes received by the cryptocurrencies, TapJets has decided to integrate Ripple and Litecoin with its payment platform.

TapJets announced

“People have voted, and we have heard their feedback. TapJets will proceed to the technical evaluation of Ripple (XRP) and Litecoin (LTC)”.

The company has announced that it will start implementing the necessary process in order to begin accepting the two cryptocurrencies by next month. In this regard, the TapJets has stated “Some of this activity would depend on how agile development teams of XRP/LTC are to our requests. It is our goal to allow TapJets clients to use these alt-coins on June 1, 2018. We have been in contact with LTC team already and will be reaching out to XRP team on Monday.”

The company has also clarified that the three cryptocurrencies were not chosen on a random basis, but on the basis of requests from the cryptocurrency community.

With regard to the rejection of Verge, which got only the third place in the survey, TapJets CEO Eugene Kesselman said

“I want to recognize the Verge (XVG) community. You have a strong following, great feedback, and lots of potentials. You have forced us to think about significant changes to UX so that additional coins can be added in the future without compromising a checkout experience.”

The CEO of the company stated that it will add more cryptos in the future and certainly Verge will be one among them.
