Fury Expected To Fight Either Joyce or Whyte In March 2022

Updated On Oct 26, 2021 by Landon Wheeler

Joe Joyce, Tyson Fury and Dillian WhyteTyson ‘the Gypsy King’ Fury put on one of the best heavyweight title fights in decades when he and Deontay Wilder clashed for the third time in early October.

Fury finished Wilder and brought an epic trilogy to an end, establishing himself as one of the best heavyweight fighters of all time.

The Gypsy King is spending time with his family and is getting some much needed rest. The boxing world is keen to know who Fury will fight next and when his next fight will be.

His promoter Bob Arum told media this week that he expects Tyson Fury to get back into the ring in March 2022 and wants him to go back to the UK for his next fight.

Since Anthony Joshua is pushing for his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk in the first quarter of 2022, it makes sense for Fury to fight in March 2022, make sure he wins his fight and then push for a fight with the winner of Joshua vs. Usyk.

Arum says the two fighters that he would like to see Fury fight next are both Brits. Dillian Whyte who holds the WBC interim heavyweight title was scheduled to fight Otto Wallin but backed out due to a shoulder injury and is now calling for a title fight against Fury. Joe Joyce is a big heavyweight who has fought 13 times and won all of his fights, 12 of them by KO.

Joyce isn’t as well-known as Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder but he has some great accomplishments to his name. Joyce has the British, Commonwealth, WBC Silver, and WBO International heavyweight titles.

So far no talks between Fury and any of the two sides have been officially opened.

Fury’s Wife Says He Will Retire Soon

There were rumours circulating prior to the Wilder III fight that Tyson Fury might call it a day and retire soon. Fury dismissed those retirement rumours and says he wants to keep on fighting as he feels on top of the boxing world. Usyk is very keen on beating Joshua for the second time and then fighting Fury.

Paris Fury, the wife of Tyson Fury believes her husband has at best 2 or 3 more years left in the sport. She said she thinks the 33 year old Fury will retire by 35 as she does not want him to keep fighting into his 40s.
