WPT Joins Forces With Streaming Platform BitMovio

world poker tour and bitmovioThe World Poker Tour (WPT) has announced a new partnership with streaming platform BitMovio, which will see WPT’s old episodes from season 12 and 13 being broadcast via the video streaming service.

The distribution deal follows the recent announcement of another partnership agreement between WPT and BTSport, the leading sports TV channel in the UK and Ireland. BTSport is broadcasting WPT Season XV across both countries.

BitMovio is set to release its Beta version, which will feature over 700 hours of content, including Seasons XII and XIII of the WPT. Adam Pliska, WPT CEO, said the company is thrilled to join forces with the BitMovio which is making a name for itself as a new force in the video streaming industry.

Pliska said they are proud to bring back previous episodes of the WPT and give viewers across the globe the opportunity to watch and enjoy them via the blockchain-enabled streaming service.

Johnny McMahon, Vice President of WPT Studios said the company also has plans to provide a lot more WPT content via BitMovio in the coming months as the BitMovio platform continues to grow in size and reach a wider audience.

BitMovio co-founder and CEO Simon Zhu was very happy with the new partnership with the WPT and called it the perfect match as both brands are innovators in their respective industries. Zhu said the partnership will enable consumers to watch the world’s leading televised poker product with the best option available in the video streaming industry today.

The WPT has expanded into new markets over the last few years and has placed a strong emphasis of building its brand in these new markets. The streaming deal with BitMovio will allow the WPT to keep its brand and poker tournaments before old and new viewers.
